Another amazing and inspiring evening celebrating the graduating class of Vanguard Secondary School
There are graduation ceremonies that mark the completion of a school year , and then there are moments like this, where you can feel the weight of every step it took for students to get there.
For many of these graduates, the journey was not simple or straight.
There were likely moments when the goal felt too far away, when finishing felt uncertain, and when what stood ahead may have seemed impossible. And yet, there they were - walking across the stage, being celebrated, and proving that with the right support, encouragement, creativity, and belief, lives can move forward in powerful ways.
Vanguard is a reminder that education is not one-size-fits-all. Sometimes success begins when someone takes the time to understand, to adapt, to encourage, and to simply walk alongside a student until they can see what is possible for themselves.
As the saying goes, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
That truth was on full display.
Thank you to the incredible staff, educators, support teams, and the Langley School District for the work you do every day.
A privilege to be in attendance with School Board Chair Candy Ashdown, Trustee Holly Dickinson, and Assistant Superintendent Lisa Lainchbury to honour and support this important milestone.
To the graduates of Vanguard Secondary School: Congratulations!
Your journey matters. Your courage matters.
Your future is not defined by where you started, but by the strength you have shown in continuing forward.
